Securing the Roots Fellowship – Aug 23
Posted by Securing the Roots on August 22, 2023
In 2023, we will facilitate a Securing the Roots cohort for six weeks that will run from September – October 2023. The cohort will be open to people and organizations from across the nonprofit sector, with no focus on a specific issue area. We do, however, strongly encourage and invite folks who work in the arts & culture sector to apply. The deadline to submit the online application is by midnight on August 23rd.
The U.S. public sector suffers from deep structural racism. Historically, wealth, land, and power have been taken away from and made systematically inaccessible to Black and Indigenous people. Leaders and organizations of color in the U.S. endure significant barriers to access and secure funding for work in their communities.
We look forward to receiving applications from people who are interested in learning how to connect their critical community work with resources they need. Through Securing the Roots, we ask what would be possible if barriers to our community’s health, wellness, and financial security did not exist? What would be possible if we could navigate around or through these barriers? What would our communities look like if we all have what we need?
