C.B. Community Schools, Philadelphia (C.B.C.S.), is a vibrant, innovative high school serving a unique group of students who are involved with, or have been involved with, The Department of Human Services and/or Philadelphia’s Juvenile Justice System. Our high school students are under-credited youth, have attended multiple schools, and are at increased risk of dropping out. Located in the Manayunk section of Philadelphia, we are an independent school that serves students through an individualized, competency-based academic program and holistic environment. C.B. C. B. Community Schools is now reviewing applications for a talented and innovative art/music educator. We are looking for a candidate committed to cultivating a positive academic experience for high school students involved in the Foster Care System. This educator is a collaborator in an innovative and dynamic educational community. The candidate of choice applies a personal and professional growth mindset; they inspire others to do the same through optimism, flexibility, and teamwork. The selected candidate should desire to contribute to the school community by sharing their passions and participating in school functions, professional development, field trips, and other special activities.
We are searching for an art /music educator for the 2022-2023 school year. This art /music educator will have foundations and fine arts classes and provide a safe and optimal learning environment where students can study key elements of general music theory and build vocal skills to the best of their abilities. This is a full-time position.
The art/music educator will be responsible for developing in each student an interest in and the ability to create, perform and listen to music, teaching the fundamental principles of music and musicianship skills. Full-time teachers lead a student advisory section. Qualified candidates will have demonstrated successful experience working with students in several mediums such as painting/drawing, ceramics, graphic design, and other digital media.
