Sea Perch Program
Teacher Professional Development
A program that introduces pre-college students to the wonders of underwater robotics
Schools are invited to send a representative to the teacher professional development called Sea Perch. The Sea Perch program trains teachers on how to build remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), which are made with raw materials. With a marine engineering theme, this project teaches basic skills in ship and submarine design and encourages students to explore naval architecture and marine and ocean engineering concepts independently. Each teacher will receive a second Sea Perch kit and curriculum for classroom or robotics club use.
