#ScienceRising’s Election Kickoff Twitter Chat – Aug 27
Posted by Science Rising on August 18, 2020
Science Rising is hosting a Twitter chat next Thursday, 8/27 at 12pm ET/8am PT where experts and advocates in the civic engagement and science advocacy space can raise awareness about upcoming election events, tactics, and information to ensure that STEM students (and really anyone who cares about participating and protecting our election process) are ready for November.
Some major themes we will include are:
- What will an election look like during a pandemic and how to vote safely
- Voting rights issues that directly affect STEM students
- How are students and Universities/Colleges engaging their students this Fall
- What engaging our communities look like and tips to make it effective
- How can scientists use their expertise to ensure fair elections
