science volunteers needed, Community Science Carnival

Posted by on May 21, 2012

This summer the Science Education Academy (SEA)  will have a Community Science Carnival in the gym of the White Rock Baptist Church on Saturday July 21 from 11:30-3pm. During this event we will perform experiments with children in grades K-6 and also engage older adults with scientific talks. We anticipate a turnout of 70-100 people.

At the present moment we are looking for six volunteers who would be willing to give simplified poster presentations about your science in easy to understand language. We anticipate this will be a 1 hour time commitment. If you would be willing to participate in this aspect of the program please respond to this email or to [email protected] with your area of study. Also we have volunteer needs in the area of set up, running experiment tables, crowd control and clean up. I’ll send a follow up email about the other volunteer opportunities soon.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to the SEA program. Please be sure to add the SEA email to your address book [email protected] as the majority of communications will now come from that address.
