Science Saturdays for High School Students

The Drexel Materials Research Society chapter is hosting a series of science workshops for high school students (8-12th grade) in the Philadelphia area. This program, called “Science Saturdays,” will take place on May 10th and 24th. The goal of the project is to encourage high school students interested in science to come each week and learn about different topics. Events will be from 8:30am – 11am. Several lectures given by grad students in the Materials department and will be interspersed with interactive demos. A short intermission will feature a quizzo event for prizes, and towards the end, the students will have a chance to ask questions.
Registration is required for the May 10th and 24th events. Please check out the individual pages to find links to the registration pages. Participation is limited to 100 attendees. All students are encouraged to register individually at the provided link. We encourage you to come as a group, and students are able to reserve up to 2 extra tickets for accompanying parents or guardians. Talk to your science teachers about offering extra credit for coming to the event, we can provide proof of attendance at the end of each week.
