School violence hearings continue in Philadelphia
The Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations will hold its sixth public hearing on inter-group conflict and violence in the City’s public schools on Tuesday, May 25th, 4pm-6pm at Olney Recreation Center, 100 E. Godfrey Avenue, and on Tuesday, June 8th, 4pm-6pm at Towey Recreation Center, 1832 N. Howard Street.
The series of public hearings are designed as listening sessions to hear from students, parents, faculty, police, community members, and youth organizations about inter-group conflict, violence and intimidation motivated by race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
Testimony provided will help the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations create a report with recommendations that will be submitted to the School District.
