School Site Coordinator, Grandma’s Kids

Grandma’s Kids, a program of the Intergenerational Center at Temple University, is looking for 2-3 School Site Coordinators.

The P/T School Site Coordinator (SSC) 2-3 positions
The Site Coordinator will conduct and oversee an after-school program school site of the Grandma’s Kids Program a five-day-a-week after school program involving tutorial, life skills training, and counseling for elementary school students being raised by alternative caregivers.  This is a part-time position that will require 16 hours per week. Supervise the delivery after-school program components. Monitor children’s behavior. Provide feedback to Project Coordinator and therapists regarding each child’s behavior. Maintain individual records on each child.  Conduct registration process for families at site’s back-to-school night event. Maintain rapport with school principal. Attend monthly planning meetings at Temple University site. SSC must conduct site meetings with staff and oversee time collection of site volunteers and tutors. SSC must contribute to curriculum activities for program.

QUALIFICATIONS:
•    Associates degree, (Bachelor’s preferred) in elementary education or one of the social sciences.
•    3 or more years’ experience with children in a classroom setting.
•    Ability to supervise and provide proof of supervision of multiple staff persons.
•    Ability to write reports, email and prep curriculum.
•    Supervise a staff of approximately  1 site assistant,  1 parent volunteer, 4-6 college work-study student tutors and 1 social work intern.
•    Preference for person who is bilingual in Spanish and English for one school.
•    Ability to manage children with behavioral health problems.
•    Sensitive to the special needs facing kinship care families.
•    An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
•    Lift up to approximately 50 lbs.
