Description: School Marketplace Assistant
Job Purpose: The School Marketplace Assistant is responsible for aiding the Program Coordinator with the School Marketplace Program. Duties include, but are not limited to, inventory management and hands–‐on help with the school teams.
-Practice FIFO (First In, First Out) system to maintain food product integrity
-Maintain food and equipment inventories, keep accurate inventory records & transfer reports as part of the quarterly reconciliation between WWCP and Weavers Way Co-op
-Record the number, type, and cost of items sold in order to determine which items may be unpopular or less profitable-Hand pick fresh product at the coop, with particular attention to seasonality selection and storage
-Prepare food for safe distribution to school teams, coordinate with cooperators to make school deliveries, and make deliveries to schools when cooperators are not available
-Research new products for inventory that align with School Marketplace food standards
Other (3–‐5 hours/week)
-Assist Program Coordinator with School Marketplace curriculum
-Interact with school communities as School Marketplace Ambassador at Back–‐to–‐School nights and other special events
-Act as supervisor at team packing sessions/meetings when Program Coordinator is not available
-As necessary, take part in WWCP fundraising and educational program events to increase awareness of WWCP programs/services
Minimum Qualifications:
-Strong computer application skills with knowledge of Google Applications (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar) for reporting and communication
-Access to reliable car, valid driver’s license, insurance, and clean driving record required. Must maintain monthly travel log. Travel reimbursed at standard mileage rate
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladder, and work in a warehouse environment
-The successful candidate will be required to complete the PA Criminal Record, Child Abuse History and Federal Criminal History Record Information clearances
-ServSafe Certification preferred

-Polite, courteous and tactful with the public/donors/stakeholders
Hours: Estimated 8–‐10 hours/week (occasional evenings and weekends) Approximate schedule will be between Monday–‐Thursday noon and 5pm. Actual schedule will be determined by mid–‐September based on Marketplace sale and Philadelphia School District schedules. Limited, if any, work during school district days off.
Compensation: $10/ hour, not eligible for benefits
