School District seeks support service providers
The School District of Philadelphia is seeking neighborhood-based community service organizations to provide support to students attending Renaissance Schools, which are among the lowest-performing schools in the city.
Carly Bolger, a spokesperson for the district, said that the schools are looking especially for organizations that have not worked with students and their families before.
“We want to get past our usual suspects and into the community,” she said to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Services to be provided include tutoring, mentoring, professional development and other services.
