The Bridge From School to Afterschool and Back: Supporting Children’s Learning Across the Hours
October 27-28

Featuring Beth Miller, Author of “Critical Hours: Afterschool Programs and Educational Success”, and Paul Heckman, from the Center for Educational Renewal at the University of Washington
This event promises to be a unique opportunity to share theory and practice for supporting children’s learning in afterschool with today’s policy makers, educators and program leaders. School’s Out Washington and The Oregon School Age Care, Enrichment and Recreation Project, in partnership with Washington’s Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), the National Center for Community Education, and the Oregon Department of Education, are targeting a multi-state audience of today’s best leaders and thinkers around children’s learning.
This conference is ideal for program leadership,policy makers, educators and administrators,exploring ways that schools and afterschool programs can work together in creating successful learning environments. Conference materials will be available on our website in early September at:
