Scattergood seeks ideas to promote resilience in women’s shelter
The Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation has announced its latest Design Challenge: Creating a low-cost, high-impact product that promotes resilience in a women’s homeless shelter environment.
Research shows that approximately 75 percent of women in emergency homeless shelters have experienced severe physical or emotional abuse during their lives. Homeless shelters often lack the capacity to help their guests deal with that trauma. The challenge is seeking people who have an idea for a trauma-informed product that could be implemented at Jane Addams Place in Philadelphia.
