Please save the date for the National Partnership for Educational Access’ (NPEA) first-ever virtual conference, The Urgency of Now: Advancing Educational Access, Equity, and Justice for Students, taking place this spring on Tuesday, April 27 through Friday, April 29, 2021!

Each year, the NPEA Conference serves as a forum to share strategies and promising practices in educational access, equity, and success for historically marginalized students, families, and communities. As we look ahead to NPEA’s first-ever virtual conference in spring 2021, we face an enduring global health pandemic, a nation and a world reeling from a deep-rooted history and persistent climate of racism and systemic inequities, and the opportunities and challenges that surround the recent presidential election. In our lives and in our work, these uncertainties have required us to constantly pivot and adapt as we strive to achieve a collective mission that is now more crucial than ever. We must continue to build upon this urgent work.

This year, we will examine the larger systems and practices that hinder educational equity and justice while disproportionately impacting the lives of those who have experienced inequities in education because of their identities. We will also ask attendees to reflect on themselves and their individual and collective roles in this work. As we reimagine the NPEA conference in a virtual space, we will gather an even wider audience of committed educators, professionals, and changemakers from across the country. We will highlight ways to come together and hold each other accountable as a community, and together, we will call for change, inspire hope, and advance educational equity and justice. We have reached a critical inflection point, and we hope you will join us in taking action; the time is now!
