About the 2026 Cities of Inclusion Disability Summit
In 2026, Philadelphia will mark the 250th anniversary of the United States. This year of celebration also presents an opportunity to envision the future as we look ahead to the next 250 years. For us that means envisioning a city and region that works for all of us, where people with disabilities thrive, and where the disability community is celebrated in all spaces from large events down to the smallest neighborhood.
Cities of Inclusion, an initiative of Special Olympics Pennsylvania, is organizing the 2026 Disability Summit: Envisioning the Future of Disability Inclusion, a summit designed to celebrate all that has been accomplished over the last 250 years while looking ahead to the future as we come together as a community to envision a Philadelphia region that works for all of us. This summit will offer the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with a diverse range of leaders across the disability community and beyond who will guide us through how we transform current challenges into actionable solutions for building a truly inclusive city and region.
The summit will take place on October 8, 2026, in Philadelphia at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, convening over 1,000 attendees including disability advocates, civic leaders, business leaders, healthcare professionals, educators, policymakers, and community members. Attendees will engage in sessions across eight dynamic tracks, explore a resource expo showcasing innovative approaches to disability inclusion, and partake in opportunities to expand their network, collaborate, and envision the future of our city.
