The University of Pennsylvania Upward Bound Program is currently seeking dedicated & experienced educators to serve as History or English Language Arts Saturday instructors for the 2026-2027 academic year.  The deadline to apply is Friday, September 25th, though applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

The University of Pennsylvania Upward Bound Program is looking for dedicated and experienced educators to serve as Saturday Instructors for our 2026-2027 Academic Saturdays!

When: Saturdays from 8:30am-1:30pm from 10/17/26-4/17/27
Where: University of Pennsylvania
Student Population: 9th-12th graders

Compensation: $32 an hour, 7 hours a week (includes 6 hours of in person work and 1 paid prep hour)
Deadline to Apply: Sept. 25th 2026

Position Requirements

• Experienced teaching background in core subject area
• Experience teaching high school students, preferably in Philadelphia
• Familiarity with the Philadelphia Core Curriculum and Keystone Exam
• Ability to create engaging, fun, hands on lessons
• Strong organizational and facilitation skills
• Commitment and passion for supporting students’ academic and social/emotional development
