Safety Captains, Fab Youth Philly
Posted by Fab Youth Philly on January 25, 2022
We are currently recruiting for our next cohort of Safety Captains. The Safety Captains Initiative is a youth workforce development project of Fab Youth Philly.
The Safety Captain initiative is a 12-week program for teens, ages 14 – 19, who live and/or go to school in the 19104 zip code. They get paid $9/hr to meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 4:30-6:30PM in person and virtually, to discuss and problem solve around the topics of safety and youth friendliness in the community. We utilize art, guest speakers, technology, social media, news media, neighborhood audits, and other tools to inform and inspire positive change.
Our next cohort starts March 1, and we are recruiting now.
