Rutgers: Transforming the Future through College Access
Posted by on June 10, 2013
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Rutgers Future Scholars will host a national convening at the campus of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey on November 13-15, 2013. “Mission: Possible” centers on making college access and completion a reality for all youth and will explore the economic, social, and cultural benefits of innovative and effective outreach strategies. This national dialogue and networking opportunity will involve researchers, program practitioners, K-12 and higher education administrators, funders, corporations, government officials, and policy makers, and will build on existing college access knowledge to create new strategies for the future.
The program committee seeks proposals that address the challenges of higher education access today, especially for under-served and at-risk youth. Proposals that focus on one or more of our convening’s areas of concentration — “Bridging Research and Practice,” “Program Sustainability and Funding,” and “Leadership and Educational Policy” — are welcome. Possible topics may include but are not limited to: tools and strategies for designing, delivering, and sustaining successful programming in particular contexts; the role of innovation, collaboration, and creativity for research, programming, and funding purposes; and visionary ideas, opportunities, and solutions that encourage multiple stakeholders to invest in public education as a common good.
