World Resources Institute invites applications for Ross Center Prize for Cities
World Resources Institute (WRI) invites applications for the fourth cycle of the Ross Center Prize for Cities, a global competition celebrating and spotlighting transformative urban change.
With the window for climate action rapidly closing this decade, the theme for this cycle is “Accelerating Momentum for Climate-Ready Communities.” WRI seeks initiatives that address the magnitude of climate challenges by increasing the speed, scope, and scale of action to create climate-ready cities and communities. The Prize for Cities will showcase exemplary urban projects as well as award $250,000 to one winner and $25,000 each to four runners-up.
The prize committee seeks projects that are helping to create vibrant, climate-ready communities by bringing people together and working to make a difference. Projects could potentially range from climate-resilient infrastructure to zero-carbon buildings to disaster preparedness training and beyond if they are replicable and scalable. The prize winner and finalists will exemplify qualities to be emulated. Projects representing a variety of sectors are encouraged to apply.
Businesses, NGOs, community groups, local governments, and collaborations of all types of organizations as well as individuals from the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors are eligible to apply.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the Ross Center Prize for Cities website.
Deadline: September 26, 2023
