Health Matters: The Role of Health and the Health Sector in Place-Based Initiatives for Young Children
Commissioned by the W. K. Kellogg Foundation, this report focuses on the growing interest in multi-sector, place-based initiatives to address the needs of young children and their families. Health Matters starts by identifying 8 exemplary, place-based initiatives, and then zeroes in on the role of health and the health sector within those initiatives. Study findings are designed to help policy-makers, funders and program implementers better understand the current status of such initiatives; how the initiatives work; common themes and program components; and what is needed to further develop, sustain and learn from successful place-based approaches.
