Robotics Research Experience for Teachers
Posted by University of Pennsylvania on March 14, 2016
The GRASP Lab at the University of Pennsylvania will host a Research Experience for Teachers (RET) site during the summer of 2016. The Robotics RET will involve 10 math and science teachers per year from School District of Philadelphia public middle schools. Teachers will spend 6 weeks learning about and conducting research in the field of robotics while developing curriculum that can be applied in their classrooms in order to inspire and develop engineering and computer science skills in their students.
During the summer (July 11-August 19), teachers will collaborate with graduate students, faculty, and industry mentors. Work will continue into the school year as graduate students and industry mentors will work with teachers to implement content in the classroom.
Teachers will receive an $8000 stipend and $2000 worth of materials for their participation.
