FREE ADVOCACY WORKSHOPS
You’re invited to join us to learn about two important topics:

“Rights of Persons Receiving Community Mental Health Treatment”
We will discuss some of the basic civil rights, such as the right to be free from abuse, neglect and exploitation; to be treated with dignity and respect; to privacy and confidentiality; to effective communication; and to file a complaint/grievance about treatment, services and programs. The presentation concludes with steps individuals can take if they’re having problems and to whom they can report problems.

“Anti-Stigma”
The stigma against people with disabilities is ugly, hurtful, and many times, unnoticed. It impacts a person’s quality of life and keeps our communities from reaching their full potential. During this important session, we will take you inside the Stigma Project, a provocative, statewide campaign designed to eliminate the stigma against people with disabilities. You will be one of the first people to view our compelling documentary designed to achieve deeper levels of discussion about stigma. Find out how you can become empowered as part of a movement to change the stigmatizing behavior and attitudes of people in your community.

All sessions run from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The order of the two topics will vary based on site with lunch provided free in between.
