After School Literacy Program: Request for RFP.
Public/Private Ventures has been funded by the City of Philadelphia through Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) to provide after school literacy programming for up to 20 sites for 2008-2009 through their Youth Education for Tomorrow (YET) program. The services provided by YET Centers include essential components for literacy instruction. Centers follow a daily schedule of activities, varying with age, grade and reading level, assuring a balanced literacy program comprised of independent student reading and teacher reading, oral language, vocabulary and comprehension activities, writing and reading games. Applications for both new and returning sites are due to P/PV’s offices on or before 4pm on August 22. YET Centers will begin on September 29, 2008.
