Revolution or Reform?: Educational Strategies for the 21st Century
Friday, April 22, 2011
The University of Pennsylvania’s Association of African American Graduate Students in Education (AAAGSE) invites you to submit proposals for the AAAGSE Race and Education Symposium. We solicit paper submissions that critically address the intersections of race and education by transcending surface level inquiry to examine the significance of race in K-12 and higher education institutions as well as informal learning contexts.
Given persistent disparities in academic performance, access, attainment, and preparation for students of color, AAAGSE seeks proposals that address persistent racial inequalities within education that influence the experiences of students as well as the professional development of emerging scholars, teachers, and other education professionals. We also encourage proposals that focus on any aspect of race that demonstrates a clear integration of racial influences on academic institutions, communities, or other disciplines.
