Revitalizing Older Cities Capitol Hill Summit
February 11-12, 2009
Washington, D.C.
A change in domestic policy to rejuvenate our nation’s older cities and towns is crucial to the prosperity of the American economy. The time is now to harness the momentum of a new Congress and a new administration. It is critical that Members of Congress understand the implications of policy choices on the ability of older industrial cities to rebuild their economies and promote more sustainable development.
The Northeast-Midwest Institute, working with its partners, the Brookings Institution, Smart Growth America, and Policy Link, are organizing the first annual Revitalizing Older Cities Capitol Hill Summit. The summit is a collaborative effort with the Northeast-Midwest Congressional and Senate Coalitions and the Revitalizing Older Cities Congressional Task Force.
