Position Objective
Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia seeks highly organized and motivated retail manager to rollout the successful set-up and opening of our first ReStore. The ReStore raises funds for Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia by selling new and gently used furniture, household items, appliances and building materials to the public at greatly discounted prices. Proceeds are utilized to help Habitat Philadelphia build additional homes. Once the ReStore is open, the Manager will run the day-to-day operations of the store.
Essential Functions of Position
* Administration, solicitation of all donated inventory
* Reconciling daily sales
* Coordinating pickups
* Overseeing organization of inventory
* Setting up sales areas
* Training and supervision of employees
* Supervise/coordinate/cooperate with volunteers and partner families, making their experiences meaningful
* Tuesday – Saturday workweek
Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
* Understand the Habitat for Humanity philosophy and have the desire to promote it
* Passion for working with the public in a retail setting
* Ability to effectively serve people of different races, religions, incomes and education levels
* Understand the difference between “doing for” and “doing with”
* Experience as a volunteer is helpful
* Interest in working with a nonprofit making a difference in our community
* Dependable, motivated, and good problem solving skills.
* Ability to relate well to a variety of people
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Excellent customer service skills essential
* Knowledge of furniture moving techniques helpful
This full time position reports directly to the Executive Director. This position offers a completive salary and benefits based on experience.
