Restorative Communities of Practice – Nov 15
Posted by National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education on November 5, 2024
National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education (NADOHE), with support from Higher Ed Forward, will hold the Restorative Communities of Practice (RCoP) national convening on Friday, November 15, 2024 from 11am – 4pm ET. This convening of senior level chief diversity officers (CDOs) and academic diversity officers (ADOs) will advance dialogue regarding the current and future state of inclusive excellence while fostering a community of practice among leaders.
Twenty-one (21) institutions (listed below) have graciously agreed to host these conversations with designated on-site facilitators. Each site will be linked virtually so you will engage with colleagues in your room as well as those participating across the country. NADOHE is working in partnership with Voltage Control, a facilitation academy, to lead the dialogues virtually. Acknowledging the extent of your workload, it is our hope that you can identify a site that will allow you to participate and return home on the same day.

Frequently Asked Questions
- I am a chief diversity officer for my institution. May I invite other colleagues from my institution to attend?
- The convening is intended for those individuals who are members of NADOHE who are the vice president for diversity, chief diversity officer and/or similar title in higher education or system in higher education typically at the central level, and those members who are academic diversity officers and equivalent. Participation is limited to these two categories of members.
- Are there funds available to support attendance?
- Unfortunately, no. Host Sites will provide the room, technology access, parking, and a lunch meal. Other travel related costs are the responsibility of the participant.
- Will the event be recorded? How will content from our dialogue be used?
- The event will not be recorded and we take special caution with the technology being used. Participant feedback from the event will be used to inform future offerings related to inclusive excellence and opportunities for advancing this work in higher education. There will be no linkages to individual participants or Host Sites in any findings or reports.
- I cannot travel. Is there an option to attend virtually?
- Unfortunately, no. The available virtual seats are held for those colleagues working in states where travel for this event is not permitted.
