Resilience Matters: How to Reach the Unreachable Stars
February 16, 2016 – Arcadia University
8:30 AM-3:30 PM
This professional development workshop will help practitioners recognize students with social and emotional issues that prevent them achieving their educational and career goals. It will also provide strategies for helping students to persevere despite the adversity preventing them from reaching their full potential.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT DAY OFFERINGS WILL INCLUDE:
• Sessions on supporting students at the high school and college levels on social and behavioral issues as it relates to college preparation and college completion.
• Topic sessions on Naviance College & Career Readiness, Story 2 – College
Essay Writing, and SDP strategic partnerships updates
• The New PSAT and SAT
• Helping college-bound students master the college experience and graduate on time
GUEST SPEAKER: Otis Hackney, Chief Academic Officer, Mayor’s Office of Education
Continental Breakfast and Lunch will be offered.
