Reshaping Agriculture for Nutrition and Health
Posted by on February 19, 2012
On the one-year anniversary of IFPRI’s 2020 conference on “Leveraging Agriculture for Improving Nutrition and Health,” we are very pleased to announce the publication of Reshaping Agriculture for Nutrition and Health.
This edited book compiles the background papers and briefs originally commissioned by IFPRI for the conference and subsequently peer-reviewed and revised. The chapters in this volume look at the links among agriculture, nutrition, and health and their potential to convey more benefits to poor and hungry people. They examine how much more agriculture could do to improve human well-being if it included specific policies, actions and interventions to achieve health and nutrition goals; what kinds of changes would maximize agriculture’s contribution to human health and nutrition; and how could human health and nutrition contribute to a productive and sustainable agricultural system.
A booklet containing the preview of the book is attached. The full book can be downloaded, in its entirety or by individual chapters, at the IFPRI website: http://www.ifpri.org/publication/reshaping-agriculture-nutrition-and-health.
We hope this book will serve as an important resource as you work toward shaping agriculture that improves human nutrition and health around the world.
