New Book on Civic Outcomes Measurement
Research on Student Civic Outcomes in Service Learning: Conceptual Frameworks and Methods will be published by Stylus Publishing, Inc., in November and is now available for preorder. This volume presents research on—and deepens understanding of—teaching strategies that foster the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of college graduates to be actively engaged in their communities as citizens and civic-minded professionals. AAC&U Vice President for Quality, Curriculum, and Assessment and Executive Director of VALUE Terrel Rhodes coauthored a chapter, “Documenting and Gathering Authentic Evidence of Civic Outcomes,” with Ashley Finley, associate vice president of academic affairs at Dominican University of California. This chapter describes AAC&U’s VALUE/eportfolio approach to civic outcomes assessment.
