Research and Policy related to Fair Housing Act

The Summer 2018 issue of Cascade reflects on the 50th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act by exploring the current state of fair housing and fair lending. As you will read in this issue, there is a need for ongoing research and policy solutions to ensure that the goals of the act are achieved, including the elimination of discrimination in access to housing and mortgage credit. Realizing the goals of the Fair Housing Act will aid efforts to combat residential segregation and alleviate the racial wealth gap.

In this issue of Cascade, articles:

• Summarize a recent Research Symposium on the topic, hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia in partnership with the Center for Urban Research and education at Rutgers University–Camden;
