Request for Abstracts: 2021 Sustainable Watersheds & Agriculture Symposium – Aug 2
Posted by Center for Watershed Protection on July 13, 2021
The Center for Watershed Protection, Inc. is now accepting abstracts from those interested in presenting at our 2021 Sustainable Watersheds and Agriculture Symposium. The Symposium will take place Tuesday, October 26th – Wednesday, October 27th, 2021. In-person event in Fulton, Maryland.
The Symposium’s central theme is Finding Opportunities to Integrate Agriculture into Watershed Solutions.
As our climate changes and human populations increase, our food and water supplies face unprecedented challenges. At the same time, agricultural and urban land often both rely on and place a strain on the same water resources. Competing interests may include area of land consumed for each use, pollution of a precious resource, downstream flooding caused by uses upstream, or allocation of water rights. In addition, most farmers have been integrating conservation practices into their operations, and we need to look for new ways to lessen the impact of farming operations.
Abstract deadline is August 2, 2021.
