Brookdale Foundation Group invites applications for Relative as Parents Program
Established in 1950, the Brookdale Foundation Group has worked to advance the fields of geriatrics and gerontology and to improve the live of senior citizens—in New York City, across the country, and around the world.
The foundation has issued an RFP for its Relative as Parents Program (RAPP), which aims to develop or expand supportive services for grandparents or other relatives who have taken on the responsibility of surrogate parenting when the biological parents are unable to do so.
Recipients will be awarded grants of $20,000 in year one, renewable for $10,000 tier-two grants, contingent on progress made and potential for continuity in the future. In addition, training and technical assistance will be provided. Matching support in cash or in-kind support will be required of all grant recipients. Priority will be given to those agencies that have access to relative caregivers, provide supportive services, and demonstrate broad community involvement and support.
To be eligible, the sponsoring agency must be tax-exempt as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or have equivalent non-profit status.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the Brookdale Foundation Group website.
Deadline: June 22, 2023
