Register your project for MLK Day 2019

Posted by Global Citizen on October 1, 2018

Please join us as a key partner on Monday, January 21, 2019 for the 24th annual Greater Philadelphia King Day of Service, the largest King Day event in the nation.

Last January, more than 150,000 people of all backgrounds and ages throughout our region celebrated Dr. King’s legacy by turning their community concerns into citizen action in the 23rd annual Greater Philadelphia King Day of Service.

Results included:

  • 228,568 pounds of food donated or served
  • 27,789 students received educational services
  • 20,637 hygiene kits or toiletries were donated and distributed to those in need

As you plan for the 24th annual King Day of Service, and ongoing civic engagement beyond, we encourage you to think about organizing a project(s) that embraces Dr. King’s legacy of social justice, that meets the needs of the community.

To register a 2019 project(s), visit http://www.mlkdayofservice.org and click the “Register a Project” button on the top menu bar. Please register your 2019 King Day project(s) as soon as possible and no later than Saturday, December 1. This will enable you to publicize your projects, recruit volunteers, and request FREE King Day of Service T-shirts.

To help support your organizing efforts, we will host a series of King Day of Service Planning workshops and webinars. We will discuss best practices for project development, volunteer management, and outreach. To see upcoming events and resources available, visit https://mlkdayofservice.org/resources/

We look forward to continuing our work together to organize meaningful service opportunities for the 24th Annual Martin Luther King Day of Service… and beyond.
