Reflections from the “Building a Movement: Creating and Sustaining Diverse Teacher Workforces” Convening
Posted by The Center for Black Educator Development on August 30, 2022
On July 27-29, The Center for Black Educator Development (CBED) and the Education Trust— joined forces with Tennessee Educators of Color Alliance, WeARE NC, and Teach Plus—to host a group of educators of color from across the country in Philadelphia, PA.
The “Building a Movement: Creating and Sustaining Diverse Teacher Workforces” convening brought together a network of educators of color who are committed to advocating for state policies focused on advancing teacher diversity.
This year’s convening theme was a direct response to a renewed focus on closing opportunity gaps for students of color and an increase in federal and state investments in recruiting, supporting, and retaining educators of color.
