Conference – Read to Succeed: Elevating Struggling Readers
Mastering early literacy is a building block of success — and Philadelphia teachers know best how to help students read, write, and thrive. Attend the Read to Succeed conference to learn from your expert colleagues, network with other teachers, and share your thoughts about teacher leadership and collaboration in Philadelphia!
Teach Plus is hosting Read to Succeed: Elevating Struggling Readers in Your K-3 Classroom, a FREE one-day conference on best practices in early literacy instruction, with five different sessions designed and led by outstanding K-3 teachers from the School District of Philadelphia. These sessions are designed to enhance and build upon the early literacy training and supports currently being provided to District public schools on the Five Pillars of Reading: Phonological Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension.
The conference — which is made possible with funding from the William Penn Foundation — will be held:
Saturday, February 4, 2017
9:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Samuel Fels High School, 5500 Langdon Street, Philadelphia
There is no cost to attend Read to Succeed. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided. Participants will receive six Act 48 hours for their time in session.
Register today to join your colleagues in improving Philadelphia’s students’ literacy skills, so every student can shine.
