Re-Entry Coordinator
The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program (http://www.muralarts.org) is the nation’s largest public art program of its kind. Since its inception in 1984 the Mural Arts Program has created over 3,000 community-driven murals and provided thousands of under-served youth and adults with award-winning arts education programming.
The Mural Arts Program seeks a motivated part-time Re-Entry Coordinator who will work closely with the Restorative Justice Program Director to coordinate employment programs for ex-inmates. The Re-Entry Coordinator will be responsible for scheduling workers with artists, organizing workshops to teach job seeking and employment skills. This person will also be required to coordinate with community agencies and locate job opportunities for ex-inmates and probationers. The ideal candidate will also organize a small youth program that teaches mural making and restoration.
The ideal candidate should have access to a vehicle, have a valid driver’s license, and experience in a social work and job development environment. Candidates should also have experience working with high-risk, hard to place populations. Meticulous attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and strong communication skills are essential.
To Apply: Send cover letter with resume as email attachments to Robyn Buseman, Restorative Justice Program Director, at robyn.buseman@muralarts.org with “Re-Entry Coordinator” in the subject line. NO CALLS PLEASE. Applications are encouraged by April 30th 2010. The Mural Arts Program is an equal opportunity employer.
