Re-engaging Adult Learners in Philadelphia – Informational Webinar with Ithaka S+R – Oct 31
Posted by PHENND on October 15, 2024
The Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development (PHENND) is committed to helping institutions develop mutually beneficial relationships with their communities. As part of this effort, we are partnering with experts at Ithaka S+R to host a free webinar and provide practical information on how institutions can better support adult learners. By working with students to resolve past due balances and administrative holds, institutions are able to enroll students who were previously blocked from returning to college.
You are invited to join an informational webinar on Thursday, October 31st at 1:00pm – 2:00pm to learn about strategies to engage, enroll, and support adult learners in the Philadelphia area. During this 1-hour webinar, Ithaka S+R will discuss barriers to re-enrollment that include administrative holds on student accounts and students’ past due balances, interventions around the country focused on re-engaging adult learners and increasing enrollment, and an opportunity to join a statewide community of practice for institutions working to better support adult learners.
To participate, please register here. You are welcome to forward this invitation to colleagues at your institution or other higher education institutions in the state as well.
Ithaka S+R is a not-for-profit research and consulting organization focused on postsecondary access and success. They are working to identify barriers to re-engage adult learners who have stopped out and assess intervention opportunities to improve adult learner re-enrollment, particularly for those who owe an unpaid balance to a former institution. Ithaka S+R’s previous analysis on the latter topic shows that over 6.6 million individuals nationally and over 210,000 students in Pennsylvania are burdened by stranded credits. You can read more about Ithaka S+R’s research efforts here.
