Quarterly PHENND Meeting: Community Partnerships for Health

Wednesday, October 5
9:00AM – 12:00 PM

University of the Sciences in Philadelphia
Wilson Student Center, Room 205-211
714 S. 42nd Street, Philadelphia

The Quarterly PHENND Meeting is a chance for the entire PHENND Network to get together to share ideas, events, difficulties, etc. It is also a time to hear from PHENND staff Hillary Kane and Liz Shriver about their activities and opportunities for partnership.  This year, the theme will be health.

We will have two brief presentations featuring different health-focused campus-community partnerships:

– Joe Kelly, Philadelphia Program Manager of PlayWorks, will talk about his partnerships with Penn, Drexel, and other campuses to help ensure safe and effective recess for Philadelphia school children.

– Dr. Kaye Edwards, Biology Professor, Haverford College; Peter Block, Haverford House Fellow with Main Line Health; Nell Anderson, Civic Engagement Office, Bryn Mawr College; and Dr. Ruth McDermott-Levy, Nursing Professor, Villanova University, will talk about the formation of a new public health consortium, “Campus Community Coalition for Health Education, Engagement and Research”

To RSVP, email Hillary Kane at hillarya@pobox.upenn.edu.
