Organization Summary
The Delaware Valley Association for the Education of Young Children is a non-profit, member organization that provides resources, support and advocacy in the early childhood education community on behalf of young children, birth through eight, in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Position Summary
The Quality Improvement Coordinator manages a caseload of early childhood centers, providing technical assistance, career advising and professional development as need or dictated by funding sources. The position requires extensive regional travel and ability to work off site using technology. Knowledge of ECE best practice, PA Keystone STARS, and NAEYC accreditation is required.
Education
• Master’s Degree in early childhood education, child development, or elementary education (with 30 credits in ECE) and 2 years experience working in childcare, Head Start, or a preschool program along with supervisory, mentoring or coaching experience.
-OR-
• Bachelor’s Degree in the same fields with 4 years experience in working in an early childhood educational setting with a minimum of 2 years supervisory, mentoring or coaching experience
Experience
The ideal candidate must, in their resume, provide details of attaining the following:
• A Pennsylvania Quality Assurance System (PQAS) Certificate to provide Technical Assistance and Professional Development (dual certificate required) or Certified Instructor (CI) certificate with documentation of having provided STARS TA
• Knowledge of PA DPW and PDE requirements for ECE programs
• Proficient computer skills, including word-processing, databases and internet use
• Completion of training on ECERS-R, ITERS-R, FCCRS and/or SACERS from the Keystone STARS Environmental Rating Scale assessment team (or attainment within one month of hire)
• Completion of training on Early Learning Standards
• Knowledge of the use of the Professional Development Record
