Posted by on October 10, 2010
Calling all aspiring social entrepreneurs and young nonprofit professionals!
Coming of Age is presenting a FREE workshop, “Lessons Learned: Purpose Prize Winners & Fellows Share Insights with Aspiring Social Entrepreneurs,” on Saturday, November 13, 10 AM to 1 PM, WHYY, 150 N. 6th Street, Philadelphia.
This workshop will be part of the Purpose Prize Summit-to be held for the first time in Philadelphia! The Purpose Prize, created by Civic Ventures, awards up to $100,000 each to 10 people in encore careers creating new ways to solve tough social problems.
In this workshop, six Purpose Prize winners and fellows will share their thoughts on:
* How an idea for social change becomes a vibrant reality.
* What combination of inspiration, imagination, and perseverance is needed to build a project that truly helps heal the world.
* What sorts of skill sets, vision, energy and fortitude are needed to make this happen.
* What experiences shaped their ideas, first steps, risks taken, and… the lessons they have lessons learned.
* Following a panel discussion, the Purpose Prize winners and fellows will work with participants in small groups.
Only 35 aspiring social entrepreneurs/young nonprofit professionals will be selected for the session (which includes lunch). To apply, click here.
