PHRC to release report on school violence and District’s response
Members of the Philadelphia Human Relations Commission released a report last week, based on public meetings held throughout the city over the past year, called Widening the Circle of Our Concern – Public Perceptions of the School District of Philadelphia’s Response To Intergroup Conflict.
Printed copies of the report and executive summary in English, as well as ADA alternate format and translated versions of the executive summary, are available.

Beginning in January 2010 and continuing throughout the year, 11 public hearings were held throughout the city that heard from130 students, parents, faculty, police, community members, and youth organizations about inter-group conflict, violence and intimidation motivated by race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
