PUBLIC MARKETS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT: FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Wednesday, June 9, 2004
Washington D.C.
Public markets and farmers markets are bringing new economic vitality to thousands of communities and farms across the country. Come learn more about how markets are being used as a tool for job creation, community development, and bringing new life to lower-income neighborhoods. Taste a sampling of farm fresh foods and wines direct from the Roanoke Public Market in Virginia and other markets around the country, including Crescent City Farmers Market at the historic French Market in New Orleans and Pike Place Market in Seattle. Public market and farmers market representatives are encouraged to visit their Congressional offices and bring staff as guests. For more information and to register contact Project for Public Spaces, 212-620-5660 or publicmarkets@pps.org
