Public Lecture by Dr. Andy Furco: Service-Learning and Community Engagement

At this important time of transition in the School District of Philadelphia, nationally known expert Dr. Andy Furco will discuss how service-learning and community engagement, two important educational strategies, can serve as a focal point of school reform efforts in the next administration. Dr. Furco is the Associate Vice President for Public Engagement at the University of Minnesota, and is widely published on service-learning at both the K-12 and collegiate level. Dr. Penny Nixon, Associate Superintendent of Schools for the School District of Philadelphia, will give a response.
