Philadelphia City Council to Hold Public Hearing on Sustainable Procurement
Philadelphia City Council’s Committee on the Environment will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 1 PM on implementing sustainable procurement practices for the City of Philadelphia. This is the rescheduled date for the hearing originally scheduled for last December.
The adoption of a sustainable procurement policy was central to the Sustainable Business Network’s recommendations for reshaping the City’s procurement practices. SBN remains committed to the belief that the City of Philadelphia should lead by example and purchase local, environmentally-preferable products whenever possible.
