PT Youth Health Educator, Congreso de Latinos Unidos

The temporary, Part Time (25 hours/week) Youth Health Educator is responsible for facilitating a substance abuse, sex education and violence prevention curriculum to high-risk youth in a school setting. The Youth Health Educator will assist group participants with fostering supportive relationships and connecting to local community resources. In addition, the Youth Health Educator will facilitate one-time workshops for community groups, develop health campaigns and perform related outreach and information dissemination at community events. This position requires flexible scheduling with notice and occasional evenings and weekends.
Minimum Experience: 1-2 yrs. of group facilitation with youth required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent Public speaking skills. Knowledge about effects of drugs and alcohol and sexual health risk factors, including dating violence, that may leat to STD’s or HIV.
Minimum Education: Bachelors degree in education or social work required.
Certification/License: 40+hours domestic violence training certificate from an approved PCADV training program preferred.
