Job Qualifications:
The Part-Time Youth Development Specialist will coordinate the day to day operation and implementation of the middle school After School Program under the supervision of the Assistant Coordinator for 21st Century Community Learning Center. This will include participant outreach, recruitment and intake; supervision of staff, developing programs, planning academic curriculum; cultural enrichment, and recreational activities; and maintaining required documentation, databases and files. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in education and zero to two years experience working with and/or supervising youth programs. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Abilities:
*Ability to work weekday afternoons.
*Demonstrated ability to supervise staff.
*Good written and oral communication skills.
*Ability to develop and implement educational curriculum.
*Ability to travel to various school locations, community organizations and meetings.
Preferred:
*Certified to teach.
*Demonstrated knowledge and experience to work with at-risk youth.
