Pt-time tutors, Camden Corps Plus

Rutgers University – Camden is looking for three part-time tutors (15 hours per week) for the Camden Corps Plus (CCP) program who will be responsible for providing individual and small group tutoring to Camden City youth ages 16-24. CCP participants are working towards passing the HiSET to earn their high school credential using the PLATO learning system. Participant skills span from beginning level through high school level in reading, writing, and math. This is a temporary position running through the end of October 2017. Two morning and afternoon positions are available. Preferred background include Math (afternoon position), Social Studies (morning or afternoon), and Science (morning or afternoon).
Job Description: Facilitate use of PLATO online learning system in the education lab in the areas of reading, writing, math, science and social studies; support participant’s educational progression, ensuring increases in reading and math levels and successful completion of the HiSET exam; development of contextualized instruction implemented during one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions; monitor participant progress and keep accurate attendance records; function as a member of the Camden Corps Plus Team; attend meetings, as requested
Job Requirements: Bachelors in education; interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; experience with tutoring adults or at-risk youth; experience with online educational programs; familiarity with adult education/HiSET
