Research Topic Summary: The Brannon Lab studies the development of numerical cognition across the lifespan. We conduct behavioral and neuroimaging studies with kids and adults. In this way, we hope to learn how our understanding of number changes throughout development and to discover the biological bases of this understanding.
Research Assistant Job Description:
Temporary Part-Time Position
20-25 hours per week
April 18th-June 10
$12 per hour
The research assistant will facilitate in the execution of an in-school research project on and off Penn campus.
Required:
1.) Approved Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Criminal Background and FBI Clearances (Lab will pay for the screenings).
2.) 2 years academic standing and higher
3.) High personal motivation, self-management, and detail-orientation; ability to take responsibility in meeting deadlines, being on time and making progress without direct supervision.
4.) Strong speaking and writing communications skills.
5.) Capacity and will to learn new software, research methods, and work routines quickly, under the mentorship of lab staff.
6.) Flexibility in responding to new research opportunities as they arise.
7.) Motivation to engage in and manage a wide range of intellectual and physical work, ranging from preparing mass mailings to analyzing proposed data-collection designs.
8.) Ability to share responsibilities and rewards with a networked team of coworkers, including off-campus community partners such as local elementary schools and faculty, staff, and fellow students.
