Exchange Atlantic Center Seeking Part Time Program Coordinator

Program Summary: The National Service Learning Exchange is an expanding network of service learning practitioners including educators and community based staff who are interested in promoting and supporting high-quality service learning practice. The Exchange operates five Regional Centers with knowledgeable staff who facilitate and nurture the development of relationships among practitioners to access resources, improve practice, and promote professional development. The Atlantic Regional Center is housed at the Institute for Global Education and Service Learning and works with practitioners from Maine to Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The Exchange is a project of the National Youth Leadership Council through funding from the State Farm Companies Foundation.

Position Summary: With guidance from the IGESL Executive Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for leading the Exchange?s efforts to expand and maintain a network of service learning practitioners within the Atlantic Region. In order to increase the capacity of service-learning practitioners throughout the region, the Program Coordinator organizes and assists the Regional Leadership Team, Peer Mentors, clients, and other members through ongoing communications, networking, and professional development. The Program Coordinator is also responsible for managing the Institute?s efforts to collaborate with the four other Regional centers and the National Center.

This part-time (12 hours/week) position is based in Levittown, PA and requires some travel.

Essential Job Functions:
? Coordinate and work with the IGESL Executive Director to expand Exchange initiatives and other regional support activities, including ongoing contact and collaboration with the Regional Leadership Team, Peer Mentors, clients, and other Exchange members
? Continue the collaborative process for implementing these initiatives, with staff from the four Regional Centers and the National Center
? Provide information to support service-learning efforts, and/or link practitioners with a Peer Mentor to provide further one-on-one assistance.
? Contribute to a national communications plan to advance the work of the IGESL and the Atlantic Region
? Connect practitioners and organizations in and outside the region to promote the Exchange?s network-building efforts.
? Provide support for Exchange activities at the annual National Service-Learning Conference.
? Represent the Atlantic Regional Center at relevant meetings.

* Knowledge of classroom teaching methodologies and practice, including service learning.
* Experience in facilitating meetings and workshops
* Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and troubleshooting skills
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Able to work independently as well as part of a team
* Ability to meet multiple deadlines and juggle tasks
* Excellent computer skills including database management

Education: Bachelors required.
Experience: 3 year(s) of relevant experience required
