Job Description
Assistant Director, Satell Teen Fellowship for Leadership & Social Activism
Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per month
Reports to: Satell Fellowship Director and Federation Liaison
Coordinate logistics and functional tasks necessary for meeting the day-to-day operations and all Fellowship events, in order to accomplish the goals and objectives for the Satell Teen Fellowship. Provide assistance to Satell Director to ensure that all programmatic aspects of the Fellowship are in concert with the stated vision, mission and goals. Assist in recruitment, interviewing and selection of the annual cohort. Serve as a role model and mentor to Satell Fellows.
Program
• Responsible for logistics and functional tasks necessary for meeting the day-to-day operations of all Fellowship events.
• Review and assist in overall program and curriculum design and implementation.
• Assist with implementation of recruitment and marketing campaign, in collaboration with Communications Coordinator (CC)
• Responsible for the application process, including working with Satell Director (SD) in development and review of application materials as needed (application, program description, selection criteria, etc.). [Time frame: late spring- fall]
– Review and organize all application and recommendation documents.
– Assist with setting up schedule and interviewing final candidates together with Satell Director.
– Collaborate with Director and Satell Family Foundation Director to choose final cohort of Fellows.
• Assist SD in development of evaluation tools and implementation of regular program evaluations in collaboration with partners.
• Organize/coordinate travel arrangements for Fellow programs, including DC and Israel.
• Supervise selected Fellows on their Commitment Projects.
Administrative
• Work with SD and CC to facilitate all communications including recruitment and application related mailings to program applicants, participants, parents and other interested parties.
• Work with SD on maintaining consistent contact throughout the year with Fellows and their families, with pertinent content for upcoming events.
• Create informational binders for specific program events
• Supply synopsis and photos from each event for posting on-line, including maintaining daily DC and Israel trip blog
• Maintain inventory of office and program supplies and equipment.
• Maintain financial receipts. Submit invoices for payment and reimbursements.
The Assistant Director must have:
• Minimum of a B.A
• Five years experience working with youth
• Basic knowledge of Jewish life and culture
• A car in order to attend and provide logistical support to local programs and events
